30 Dec 1899 - At last time for some news
Well after nearly 5 months back home, I find a few minutes to write some news. We have not stopped moving a round, friends and relatives and getting time to sit is difficult.
After the disasterous start with Daragh & Caroline, things quickly improved . With lots of sightings of animals we had not seen before, starting with a Serval in the Okavango Delta that just sat waiting to pounce on it's prey. The new Sony Digicam with night vision was very useful, we then went on see Lion, Hyenas, Jackal, Giraffe, Elephant & various antelope around the water hole & camp site at Santawani. We were to make 2 more visits that were even more exciting. Another Serval turned up on the lawn at Camp Moremi the following day, and we spotted a leopard scent marking on our afternoon trip. At Mankwe Lodge our night driver spotted 2 pairs of bat eared foxes & 5 Genets. Having crossed the border back into Namibia we camped at Kazilo Lodge for 3 nights and enjoyed a relaxing time cruising down the river and some fishing .
