Roving Bonkers

1-5 Oct 2006 - Sahara

We left Fez & headed south 410kms to a campsite at  Source Bleue De Meski, a natrual spring lake surronded by tall palms. The next morning we headed in  the direction of Todra Gorge and the town of Tinehir a short journey of 160kms, we had 2 nights a beautiful hotel called Tomboktu owned by a Swiss guy. Here we met a friendly Canadian called David, who had been travelling in Morocco for a couple of weeks and gave us a few places we should visit. So next morning we drove to Merzouga among the dunes about 215kms the last 50kms was driven off-road the first time we had done this. What a magical place we were surronded by sand it was such a peacefull place, unfortunatley the sun was hazy so I didn't get any good photos. By the morning we both had our first bout of the runs, so headed back to the comfort of the Tomboktu in Tinehir
