28-30 Sep 2006 - Fez
After 2 days relaxing by sea we drove south to Fez, the hashish sellers were still on the road side in the Riff mountains the first half of the journey.
After 292kms we were on the outskirts of Fez and the usual "can I help you man" appeared on a motorbike, so we were escorted to the campsite. On arrival the campsite manager told us that our "can I help you man" had a relative who was an official guide to the city ( how lucky we were) so we arranged to be picked up the next morning for a look round the old city. I must admit he was a well inform guide and showed us round very well, albeit visiting shops were he would get a commission and passing others we were interested in.
We decided to put up ground based tent as we were going to stay 3 days. Putting it up was no problem but pegging it down was, the the pegs were too light for the hard ground so we tied the guys to trees and the Landy. It was a huge site with only 7or 8 camper vans, this was our first expierience of Moroccan campsite ablusions!!! It was alright for the campervans they only used the water, it was the same all over Morocco they were filthy
